Bush Protested Wherever He Goes
Bush Protested Wherever He Goes
Submitted by davidswanson on Sun, 2010-02-07 15:17.
By Sharon Tipton

Thirty protesters gathered on February 4th, in Dana Point, Calif., where George Bush received the prestigious Cardinal John J. O’Connor Pro-Life Award from Legatus a Catholic business and civics leaders group, at its annual Summit. 9/11 Truthers from Los Angeles joined us, as well as members of ANSWER-LA who drove three hours in traffic to attend, and Dee Dee Miller, a Southern California activist, and Cindy Sheehan’s sister. We all came together for the same reason – to express outrage over the awarding a pro-life award to a war criminal! Aggressive, pre-emptive war is not "pro life." George Bush deserves conviction for the war crimes of launching a war based on lies, causing the death of over a million people, including thousands of US deaths, sanctioning torture, violating the U.S. Constitution and international law, and smashing any hopes for world peace for the foreseeable future.

An earlier press conference was lightly attended but eventful and we made our presence known. The police created a “free speech” zone for us just outside the main entrance of St. Regis Resorts, where the summit was being held. And I was given an aged US Flag by a passing driver, which quickly got integrated into the protest!

A larger protest was held in the evening in front of the St. Regis. As many buses and limousines passed us while entering the Resort, we were able to remind these “leaders”, that they were honoring a war criminal that had tortured, lied, and broken the law.

5. I just hope he has to look at them.
When he was the pResident, he was shielded from those who disagreed with him. If he does have to look at them, it might give him pause. Nah. He never did give a shit so why should he start now?

11. That's at least restored my faith after learning more people are interested in Palin
I think I'll go bat shit crazy if the world doesn't wise up. It would be terrible to dumb down to the least common fascist war criminal and women who inspire from Wasilla.

The WORLD?

The "world" is laughing at us and scared that such a big rich country is dumbfuck crazy. All I want is for the USA to wise up.

But seriously, are Tea baggers and Palin fans that big a group? I don't think the media reflects an accurate account of these fringe followers. They report on Teabaggers and Palin all the time but the crowds just don't seem to be overwhelming when compared to, oh say, the protesters against going into Iraq....which the Media did not report on as much as the GOP freak show. Seems to me there were just as many anti Iraq War protesters as there were Glenn Beck 9/13 loons. And the War protesters were not supported by a big fake news corporation. Imagine if they had had some support.

44. Valid point... my personal sampling of that population is that it's small...
... but, blown way out of control by the very media who perpetuates their own profits by printing and airing and blowing it all out of proportion.

The tea baggers are small groups and nobody talks about the after the "meetings" happen, which makes me think they're all hyped and meaningless. I mean, these are the people who have to wise up.

23. While Bush is a war criminal
and I despise him and will spit on his grave, I do feel almost sorry for him as he was an ignorant dupe of Cheney who I believe is the evil mastermind behind the entire Bush presidency. Cheney is pure evil. Pure evil. The most vile person in American history.

Also, did anybody notice that Bush did not go to Haiti? HHMM???? I'd love to see him go to Spain!!!

places like Bangladesh and Pakistan, and in Africa, because he had immediately shut down all the family planning clinics that Clinton had established to help poor women make the choices that were best for them.

That he's doing more for Haiti than he did for New Orleans. I mean seriously, it was torture watching his dry-drunk piss-ass face next to a real President like Bill Clinton before the super bowl. What a fucking joke dubya is.
