5. ot . . . does anyone still have a paperboy? . . .
until about 10 or so years ago, my newspaper was delivered by a high school aged kid who always put the paper in the mailbox and who stopped by once a week collecting the subscription fee . . . now all the papers are delivered by adults in cars, who toss them out the car window and onto the lawn as they drive by . . . payment is made directly to the company either online or via snail mail . . .

a sign of the times, I guess . . . though I'm not sure if the cause is a) adults need the jobs, b) kids don't want the jobs, or c) the company doesn't want to be bothered with the kids . . . maybe a little of each . . . I just know that I preferred having a paperboy, since I was one myself throughout my high school years . . .

6. All of the above, mostly (b)
How many high school kids do you know that are willing to get up at 4 am to do a minimum wage job? I don't know any. Heck, the I never once saw the kid next door so much as cut the grass or rake the leaves. His did does that.
