"Oh, no. This isn't a Republican thing. It's just Joe everyman who's tired of the status quo."

They're still pitching to the lowest common denominator of the American populace: The stupid, the racist, the homophobes and the evangelical.

BUT!

They have still, with a group of 600 managed to garner days of reporting from the "news" networks. They are way to fucking organized to do this and claim to be a "grassroots" organization. (As I'm sure all the readers here already know).

They've got Sarah prostituting at the gig for rock star pay, they have Judge Roy Moore from Alabama who lost his Judgeship for his demands that Christianity be shoved down the throats of all, regardless of their personal beliefs, they's got Tom Tancredo, whose unabashed racism is well known...

And they claim they are just a grassroots community who is against "big government."

I call bullshit.

This is Rovian politics at its "best."

And the media is swallowing without getting paid extra.

2. I could gather 600 people for a picnic!
Shine a light on the measly 600. 600! Will FAUX report it as 60,000?
Ha, this is a joke - except to sister sarah, who gets six figures.

6. IMHO, The Republicans OWN the teabaggers.
They (teabaggers) are the racists, homophobes and Christian "talibaners" they can't afford to court publicly so they have created this group of the unwashed and uninformed to bring them into the fold.

These are the people that think Obama is a Socialist, Non-native American and the anti-christ. They put on a $500.00 a head program to bring in what they hoped to be a group of people who wouldn't say those things out loud. Then they barraged the networks with enough spam about the speakers to garner interest and coverage.

7. I think I've got this figured out. And Republican PTB are going to save themselves with the Baggers.
First, get these crazy birthers to run for office and the independents will come out in droves to vote for the mainstream Republican, who we all know don't exist. So it's the entrenched power who will perpetuate themselves at the expense of Democrats and Baggers. It's a matter of positioning themselves in the "middle" even though the Republicans and Baggers are actually the Far Right and the Farther Right. Independents are being played like a yoyo and I hope they wake up.

9. They will "Bait and Switch" them in elections.
What works for Democrats will work for Republicans too: "Oh, we are oh so interested in what you think. You like candidate X? Oh what an interesting candidate! Why don't you just come right into 'the halls of power' and tell us all about your candidate!" - a few months pass - "Oh, candidate X made a brave run for it, but s/he just didn't get enough money raised, so since you are one of us now, how about being a part of candidate Z's organization? We really need you and your ideas. You'll be good for our candidate Z!"
