So could Sarah Palin be our next president?
Beats me. If Bush Jr. got through grade school, anything is possible.

But what if Sarah Palin ends up in the White House on January 20, 2012? Will the world end? Will misery befall the world? Will our our planet become a floating, mindless, unidentifiable entity? (Sorry, wrong question. Maybe we already are.) Will some sky wizard smite us? Will everyone move to Australia or Sweden? Will there be no more reruns of "The Beverly Hillbillies? Will ... well, you get the idea.

I, for one, tremble at the thought of a Palin presidency. And I don't think it's an impossibility. I really believe that there are enough incredibly stupid people in this country to elect her.

So here's my disgusting, selfish, unthinkable, horrifying, sincere wish for myself if she were to become president. I would really like to die, (hopefully peacefully), before seeing this happen.

And yes, I know this is a controversial wish. So I'm just going to shut up for a while and see what you here on DU think about this wish.

(And if you call me a coward for wanting out, so be it. There are just too many things on this particular planet that will never change. You just don't yet realize it.)

... and move on to some other shiny object.

39. civil war
If she were elected there would be a civil war. She would have to go through the whole campaign and that would most likely do her in. She is just not sharp enough.

3. What would a Palin presidency look like to you?
Escalating war?

No jobs?

Stagnating wages?

Crumbling infrastructure?

7. What would a Palin presidency look like to you?
It would look like another Bush presidency.

She would be the perfect continuation of the elites selecting the dumbest person they could find to be a puppet for corporate policies.

You're right, but I really doubt many really smart people would let themselves be led around like Bush was.

6. Stop your insanity. A majority of Fox News polls found that viewers thought Palin should
be a homemaker. They thought she should NOT run for public office. They find she does a mental lapdance on codgers. Enjoy the show, and be sure and vote.

The country club establishment of the GOP will never let that happen. The fringe might like her, but the bigger types don't care for her and they are going to be pulling strings to block her.

I think it's more likely that we'll see a third party emerge, they will split the Republican vote, and Obama will slide back in.

32. don't fret this one
if you look at US history of female candidates for VP and Pres., half or more tend to be affiliated with socialist or socialist-leaning political parties. These parties were/are way ahead of either the Dems or the Repugs in this regard. At least with Geraldine Ferraro in 1984, it shows that the Dems were/are 20 years ahead of Repugs.

Besides that, I think Palin was a freak that the Republicans picked out of desperation, when they saw the historic consequences in either a female (Hillary) or a black(Obama) being on the Dem ticket.

The proverbial snowball has a better chance in hell than the chauvinist Repubs have in getting a female in, as their Presidential candidate.

If the Dems can put a female on the ticket, historically the Repugs will take a decade or two to catch up. I don't see it happening with Palin in 2012.

37. I think the probability of that happening is very low.
She's got a good gig going at Fox News, where they feed her ego and nobody asks her any hard questions, like "what newspapers do you read?" I don't think she's willing or able to put in the work necessary to become president, much less do the job. Not saying it's impossible that she could win, but at this point I'm not too worried about it.

is it possible? Well with the large population of idiots and dimwits in this country then yes it is possible. Will it happen? I seriously doubt it. Sadly, the same fraud potential would exist with Moosealini. Unless President Obama starts acting like Candidate Obama (or better yet like a 21st Century FDR) and ensures the same massive turnout - or potentially even better - as the one who was able to cancel out the last fraud.
