Watch Scott Brown lurch to the right
I think scotty boy's going to go for it. he knows it's going to be hard to hold onto his senate seat and I believe he's going to make a dash for the whitehouse. to those ends he'll be more conservative in his senate career than most are predicting.

that's my prediction. hope I'm wrong.

2. I really doubt he is going to run for president in 2012 and my guess
is that he will present himself as an independent republican and take on his party on some votes but present himself as a old-time fiscal republican with more moderate social positions.

4. I agree with you.
Brown is going to want to keep this seat and he ain't going to pull it off again without an occasional drift back to the center and the the deeper he gets into his 4 years the more centrist he will become.

5. At this point, it's difficult to imagine any Republican, let alone a freshman, saying "yes."
I predict Brown will vote "yes" only on those items -- let's face it -- war-related items, where it's safe for a Republican to duck-and-hide with a "yes" vote. Apparently, the people in Massachusetts saw something in him, but since I've gotten a look at him, he has not impressed as a "maverick."

I can't see him being the lone "yes" vote on anything, especially when his party's sole strategy is to make everything "Obama's waterloo."

But -- who knows, you could be right.

6. His first question from the media should be about DADT. 20 years
of service and a JAG to boot should make him qualified to issue an immediate response to this issue. It will require no homework or a cheat sheet that he used yesterday for his first statements. Then we will get a handle on where he comes from. He says he is a moderate on social issues? Prove it.

7. He will be conservative on economic issues and moderate on social issues.

I don't think he will run for President...no one wins from New England anymore. We have a curse here or something.

10. Don't be so sure
Brown is "the guy who can woo the liberals" - even if they merely stayed away because a few people had been moving the White House to the centre and beyond, but don't pay attention to that!

11. I think the guy has an ego that puts palin's in the shade
I think he'll lean right in order to ingratiate himself with the puke establishment and base and go for it 12.

Edited on Fri Feb-05-10 11:13 AM by Jennicut
won't trust a New Englander who is pro choice. Mitt couldn't win the primary last time no matter how much he tried to twist himself into being more conservative.

16. Right, but the 180 won't be believable, just like Romney.
He will be a younger version of Romney. VP spot at best.

15. I believe this has a high probability of occurring. I would love to see him become a Lieberman for
the Right though. That would be fun to watch.

17. Posted this elsewhere, but worth repeating:"I'll be the 41st vote, not the 60th vote, Brown said."

"I'll be the 41st vote, not the 60th vote," Brown said at a brief press conference following his oath of office Thursday night."
