12. There were a LOT of anti-war protests between 2001 and 2008.
NARY a PEEP. The 2005 Coronation protests, where there were mile-long rows of policemen five deep protecting the newly crowned DimSon and protestors were getting beaten and pepper sprayed? NARY a PEEP.

Hell, even the vastly underpromoted "Million Worker March" was a bomb, but still drew 10,000 people anyway. It's funny how only 10,000 show up for a worker's rights march, but the very anti-worker, pro-corporate 9/12 FootShooter Parade draws 60,000 people. Please explain THAT to me because I don't get it.

This lame Holiday-Inn quality event draws 600 people and gets round-the-clock coverage. Classic.

The media loves Republicans and their message. Pro-corporate, pro-corporatism. You workers are just going to shut up and do EXACTLY as you're told. Consume, spend, die a fast death.

7. live blogging from our local newspaper. they did not get credentials to report.
While the Party people get their breakfast on, let’s see how this is playing out in the national and international press.

Let’s see. looks like…the national and international press are bored out of their gourds.

“The widely anticipated civil war within the Republican Party is off to a decidedly dull start,” says Politico, under the headline Weak Tea.

“A genteel affair,” says Time magazine in a coded plea for more crazy. Seriously, people. That guy in the kilt shouldn’t have to carry the entire burden of providing convention color. Any minute now, reporters are going to be reduced to interviewing each other.

On the up side, all eyes are on Nashville, per Greta van Susteren.

“Why Nashville?” she asked convention organizer Judson Phillips last night. “Any particular reason?”

“It’s home,” said Phillips.
