on DADT..."alternative forms of lifestyle"
Edited on Tue Feb-02-10 10:45 AM by Mari333

"We can talk about this delicately or we can just be fairly direct," O'Hanlon said. "There are a lot of 18-year-old, old-fashioned, testosterone-laden men in the military who are tough guys. They're often politically old-fashioned or conservative; they are not necessarily at the vanguard, in many cases, of accepting alternative forms of lifestyle."

how many frigging times do I have to hear 'alternative forms of lifestyle' to describe one adult human of the same gender loving another adult human of the same gender. This kind of rhetorical crazytalk is what promotes bigotry in the first place.
This is not a lifestyle, this is who people ARE, you idjits. this is how they are BORN. would being BLACK be an 'alternative form of lifestyle???' JEEZUS.

3. "Old-fashioned testosterone laden" = homophobic.
Probably also xenophobic, more likely to shoot kids and women, especially with darker skin tones and who "talk funny".

These young men are the ones who should be relieved of service.

6. There are a lot of 18-year-old, old-fashioned, testosterone-laden men in the military who are
tough guys.

And something between 3-8% of them are gay.

8. Could they put two more loaded
words together?

At this point you can't even think this is plain old stupid hetero-centric talk. Alternative? Lifestyle? Loaded political speak.
