Tea Party Response to Obama SOTU
State of the Union: We're Unimpressed, Mr. Obama

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

The Tea Party Express released the following statement in response to the president's State of the Union Address:

"Tonight was a night of hot air, delivered in a way too long speech that revisited pledges we've quite frankly heard from Barack Obama before.

"His comments in the State of the Union were similar in tone and substance to his comments made after he won the 2008 presidential election and during his inauguration.

"But actions speak louder than words, and this administration violated its promise for increased transparency. Lobbyists were appointed by the president to positions he swore would never be filled by former lobbyists.

"Worst of all, we've seen out-of-control spending, and an unparalleled growth in the size and power of government.

"We'll start to believe Barack Obama when his actions match his words. Until then, it's just more empty promises, and we've all heard far too many unfulfilled promises from the politicians in Washington.
"In our opinion, the best part of this speech was the end."

Srsly? That's all you've got? That's not a statement; that's a snit.

1. I think it's hysterical that they've also gone after Palin over her endorsement of McCain
Their petulance is like plea for a change in their meds.

2. Nothing gives me the shivers like republicans complaining about spending.
They spent like lunatics when they controlled things.

4. These idiots only want to dismantle everything.
They want to go back to volunteer fire depts and dirt roads. They want to return the US to an agrarian economy complete with native only society. Of course "native only" does not mean Indians. They are a facade for many less legitimate organizations whose agenda does not get spoken of openly. We're gonna have to watch this bunch.

8. How To Confuse a Tea Bagger...
They're hell-bent that government is the problem to everything. Just ask them if it's such a problem, why do you want to control it or back the richest to hold total power over you. Next, get a stop watch or just count the seconds and count the crickets.

If they're out to totally destroy government...what do they expect will take its place? Whose gonna fix roads or rush emergency supplies in case of a natural disaster? The state? And with what money? (Get ready to count for more crickets)

Finally ask them to explain how well lowering taxes on the rich did under booooosh...and deregulation...and how more of the same will fix an economy broken by unchecked "capitalism". By then they're usually needing to make a phone call or go somewhere/anywhere else.

Most times you can't get them past the first question...then they get locked into talking points and throw any and every strawman they can create. Their hatred for "libruls" and this President is all they focus on...specifics never have a chance.

10. I don't think they understand what the word "unparalleled" means.
Bush grew the government. Obama has barely trimmed the hedges.
