It's so weird to see Republicans aghast at Obama tweaking the Supreme Court...
...even though for years they've lambasted "activist judges" and showed absolutely no respect for the Supremes they disagreed with. (Mention the name "Ginsburg" in front of a bunch of conservative men and watch them go to town with sexist jokes and barely concealed rage.)

So they're hypocrites. But what else is new...

1. Especially since they've spent the past 37 years bashing the court over Roe v Wade

9. Some Right-wing toad on CNN made a comment...
Saying, in effect, that Obama's logic applies equally to Roe v. Wade, in that last week's decision overturned 100 years of legislation and precedent. The Repub Toad suggested that no one would dare criticize Roe on such grounds.

At which James Carville scoffed, noting that every Republican President since 1973 has attacked Roe.

15. It's been longer than that. At least since Brown vs. Board of Education and...
the school prayer and Bible reading decisions.

4. He did kinda break one of the last taboos of presidential rhetoric
Edited on Thu Jan-28-10 01:07 AM by Strawman
Read Jeff Tulis' book The Rhetorical Presidency for background.

That being said those 5 bozos had it coming to them.

11. The Only Sad Thing

Was that only three of the five bozos, as you aptly put it, were there. Scalia and his running buddy, Clarence, were absent (as was Stevens).
