I heard John McCain announce today. Something is wrong
with this man. I went to see him a few months ago when he spoke at Keene State College and I heard him today. Two different men. He sounded deranged today. Very different from the last time I heard him.

5. I did not but I can tell you that he appeared very normal
at Keene State and he did not speak ragtime. Today he sounded like a completely different person.

7. He was deranged last night too! He tried to shut Jon Stewart down by
talking over Jon, and I wound up screaming at my tv, telling him to shut the hell up! He is a madman. He even made a joke that he brought Jon a present. An IED placed under Jon's desk.
Very sick.

31. Yes, the IED thing was real. What do you expect from someone who sings "bomb, bomb, bomb,
bomb, bomb Iran"??????

I find it upsetting that Jon Stewart has him on in his show as often as he has. I do not like McCain and never have. He is a frigging wimp who is probably being blackmailed by Shrub and gang.

35. I was absolutely STUNNED by the IED "joke"
I'm sure all the families who've lost sons (and daughters) to IEDs think that was just a laugh riot.

Sick, sick, sick.

8. I hate to suggest this but ...
Edited on Wed Apr-25-07 02:13 PM by hippiechick
... my mom had several bouts of skin cancer which may or may not have contributed to her ultimate passing from cancer of the brain. The most obvious symptom of the brain tumor taking over was that she seemed to be on a perpetual "3 martini high" - as the oncologist put it.

I didn't catch McCain v. Stewart last night, but loss of memory and irrational thought sure sounds like it falls right in line with what my mom went thru ...

22. I tend to think something medically is wrong with him
I don't know what it is, I thought senility...but whatever it is, I have a feeling it is medical, he is not firing on all eight cylinders.

May well be, what you say. (only play a doctor on DU) he is getting worse at a fair pace. I dont like the man's politics, but I dont wish him ill, I wonder what his last physical would reveal?

9. He's panicing now. I think he was assured the Pub nomination
by the powers in the party, if he would back off of Shrub and make nice. Well, he DID all that! For 5 years he did those things! NOW there's a problem! It doesn't look like Shrub is backing him. The fundies don't trust him. The Dems detest him for aligning with Shrub. And the Ind'swanted the maverik of 2000, and that guy's gone, so they don't want him either!

Poor Jon. Nobody loves him anymore, and he's flipping out! I see it getting worse, and soon.

He's cured me of that malady with his loony Shrub support.

11. He was promised that this was his turn
He put up with alot over the last six years because BushCo promised. Well the BushCo money machine came through, but I believe it is just starting to hit McCain that the BushCo machine is not going to be enough.

I believe up until just the last couple of days, McCain thought he is the next POTUS. It may not have fully sunk in yet that a GOPer may not be in the WH come 2009.

30. Alzheimer's is a lot worse than just being daffy.
That's not his problem. He's just gotten so calcified and pampered in office that he can't fathom how people like Stewart can like him personally but still think he's wrong dead wrong on the war.

23. Maybe the Bushies are slowly poisoning him
McCain thinks they are his friends, but he doesn't understand. WOW. I guess you could almost say I feel sorry for him. Clearly after that Bomb bomb bomb Iran remark-he's lost it. YES we know THEY want to bomb Iran but you don't joke about it on Teevee-it makes the neo-con's very nervous-and they all are very nervous right now.

I've despised him for awhile, but he's had a rough life, I think retirement is in order. Power is not a good thing.

28. McLame is between Iraq and a hard place.
He has trapped himself. If Iraq keeps getting worse his chance of garnering the Rethug nomination are slim and none. If in six months Iraq settles down he might have a chance. He is rolling his dice.

29. I felt sorry for him on Stewart last night. He needs a good Bible reading
Which probably just shows what a bleeding heart liberal I am. But he was so desperate to get his points out, to say "But this is a NEW strategy! Let's try it, kids!"

I know he's been battered by the fundies, but there's still this little Old Testament verse he needs to recall.

"Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not."
---Jeremiah 5:21
