If any Repuke's thinking about flipping parties...
I can't think of a better day to do it than today! Wouldn't it be the coolest turn of events ever?

Surely there is someone vulnerable and concerned enough to perpetuate their tenure...

2. If any WERE considering it... last night ended that possibility.
We could easily see defections in the other direction (really just a relabeling from "blue dog" to "real republican"), but we've seen our last defection for awhile.

4. Why in the world would they flip?
They're on an upswing that shows no sign of receding.

7. I respectfully call bullshit
The GOPers are on a roll as the Party of No. As the minority party they have held sway over HCR debate from the start, and now that they're on the ascendancy not a single one will switch parties. Health care reform? Get real.

5. Why would someone in a dying party flip to join an already dead party?

8. I think it is more likely that somebody like Webb will flip to republican
Webb used to be a republican, and switched to democrat mostly I think because of W and because of the Iraq war. At least he took down George "Macaca" Allen, and he made a few very passionate speeches about the war. But I think he is still a republican at heart. At least he would be a moderate republican.

9. I know. I was just saying how GREAT it would be if it happened
today-not that it was likely. I agree with you about Webb. He was very negative in the last couple days.

I am just so angry about all the mis-management on this. we all have good intentions - but you never, ever, announce

to the opposition that you are going to change everything (hc) and then give the repukes months upon months of time to

group, to scare, to demonize, to attain critical mass in the public's opinion. I don't understand why they didn't do it

incrementally (Hillary lesson). Sneak things through a little at a time before they knew what hit them. That's what the

repukes did when they were in charge. we had good intentions - just not one iota of political savvy. IMHO. The other side will

break us every time unless we get our political act together.
