What's all the moaning about?
What did 60 seats get us? Nothing.
The sad but true fact is: this country sucks. It's a shell of what it once was, which was even then was only a glimpse - a promise - of what it could of become.
Nothing will change this decline, certainly not a return to the Republicans, which will only accelerate the erosion. But who really cares? We've accepted this as our fate as an insane society.
There are two parties, and only two parties. Neither will cede to another, but they will tacitly accept that each will have a turn at the trough now and again. They will fill their pockets and move on ad nauseum.
This is our government - a cabal of thieves, morons, and shysters - filled with their own illusory arrogance of accomplishment, but accomplished only in flim-flam.
But it's the government we deserve for we were once free and brave and now we are neither.
