like me, that want to donate but don't feel comfortable giving out your credit card number.

I use paypal whenever I can for just that reason. Even if paypal takes a fee (?) it's worth the peace of mind for me - I've been there, done that having my credit card number copied for fraud.

2. I sent a check by snail mail. I don't use the credit card unless I absolutely have to.

I gave to STC because I know they have been in Haiti "on the ground" and I feel they know the place well and have staying power. I'm happy that they're in my state, in Westport (which also has the headquarters of Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang charity...
