DEA AGENT ON TRIAL: THE DRUG WARS

I am posting this link to http://goliathandwimmens.blogspot.com/2010/01/dea-agent-on-trial.html which reprints the net stories on Lee Lucas who is on trial NOW in Cleveland. The post also includes a Pittsburg Post Gazette story about a cop Lucas 'put away' in the mid nineties....

I have no opinion on this and do not know any of the players....although I have had plenty of
contact with the murky moral world of the 'Drug War'. (I am a defense attorney).

2. If a DEA agent uses Cocaine...

.. then arrests the seller... does this mean the DEA Agent is not a drug user? Just curious.

But what I have usually seen is the cop NOT using the stuff. Although I think it HAS to go on in some cases.

8. I think usually, ..you will see vice cops screwing prostitues...

and drug cops snorting cocaine. You will see anti-gambling cops scooping up cash from dice games.

But I am cynical...

4. Interesting case that exposes the major problem facing the United States -- secret government.

Mr. Lucas' case is tragic -- so many people have died and others have had their lives ruined due to the "War on Drugs."

Here are a couple of OPs on the subject, not all that well written, but full of historical background:

Personally, I believe these reprehensible activities date to the founding of CIA, when many "former" NAZIs reunited with their pre-war Wall Street financiers to prosecute the Cold War.
