Which ought to be next to one's name and thus which is more important? The post count or the join date? Or should both be listed?

I've run into quite a few great posts by people with a very low post count and recent join date in the past week or so.

I'd hate to lose them to "I was here first!" snobbery.

Besides, I have quite a few total wankers on my ignore list who have early join dates and >1000 posts.

Some folks have been here forever, but don't post much. Others have had multiple user names etc.

It don't really mean shit anyway.

BTW, I bet I was one of the first people to come here. As soon as I saw the DU banner at the chimp's inauguaral parade, I jumped on the computer and came to DU. I signed up and posted, but eventually lost the account, as I was so computer illiterate at the time, that I screwed something up, but I was posting here on Day 1.

Since some are so focused on the number, I realized that when I lurked here before joining. I did post a bit in GD back then, but really hit it hard in the Lounge to get the *magical* 1000+. I'm sure I'm not the only one. :shrug:

I don't even usually look at people's profiles, unless it's someone I don't recognize, then I might just want to know if they're new. I've been surprised, find people that have been on here longer than me and I don't ever really remember reading them before.

Just saw a post over at the Lounge which got me to thinking and it does seem that at least a few members will zero in on someone with less then a thousand posts and who makes a controversial post.

34. The 1000+ posts doesn't mean much anymore since that can be done in a month or less.

If somebody has been here for years but has less than 1000 posts that just means they mostly lurk and don't really post unless they have something to say.
