I Am So Tired Of Cowards Being In Charge

This country is turning into such a damn joke.

The "leaders" of this country are frightened of being randomly killed by nutbag fundamentalist religious zealots from overseas. I get it - it's a scary thought.

But jeez - terrorism has claimed, what? About 5,000 lives in this country in the past 20 years or so?

We're so scared of this we're delaying flights because people bring honey on a plane.

"Why in this day and age would someone take a chance carrying honey in Gatorade bottles?" Youngblood said. "That itself is an alarm. It's hard to understand."

Oh, the spectacle!! A man brought honey on a plane!! Run!! Hide!! Drama!!!!!!!! FEAR -- FEAR OF HONEY!!!!!!

Yet, each year, tens of thousands of Americans die quietly, without spectacle, because of the policies/laws of our country and the practices of health insurance companies and pharmaceutical giants.

And veterans slip quietly into homelessness and despair. I learned today that in my wife's home town, the last living soldier who took part in the Normandy invasion (D-Day) committed suicide - he shot himself. A genuine WAR HERO, a decorated VETERAN, versus a service-dodging cokehead flying piggyback onto an aircraft carrier -- was forgotten by his country.

He was left alone, to despair, and finally to die...alone.

Fuck.

But for the goddamn COWARDS, and their rich owners - money - gobs and gobs of it - for the military-industrial complex, to keep this sniveling crowd of WIMPY LITTLE CRYBABIES blanketed in false security and symbols of physical might.

We let the rich pool ALL OF OUR COUNTRY into their private holdings, while the majority of us struggle to survive THEIR excesses. They lap in luxury while the very souls who break their bodies to make them wealthy, suffer and die without health care.

WHERE IS AMERICAN COURAGE, HMMM?????

Where is our determination to be MORAL????? To lead by example??

WHY DO WE LET THE COWARDS MAKE THE FUCKING RULES?????

If this, goes on...what the hell is next?

The fear-mongering "terror terror terror" of the Right benefits Republican politicians, and the Democrats need to respond to stay viable. That's why they do it: it sells. And it sells because the public is buying.

for buying into the fear. Why is it easier to react - than to act? Must we forever be caught in the web of our own egos, the part of us that claims to be above the animals, to be better, more intelligent - yet be consumed by our own fears to the point of dedicating the bulk of our national wealth to defense? Defense against what, exactly? FEAR?? And if that is all there is to it, if fear is enough to cause an unending stampede, then how the hell are we any better than animals?
