Let's consider the Rush situation:
A few weeks ago, there was an incident involving a famous golfer wherein the first reports were that he'd had an accident, that he was lying on the ground, possibly not breathing, and that his wife had broken the REAR windows of the car so that she could pull this man, who weighs 180 pounds of sheer muscle, over the back seat, to safety.

Uh-huh.

So the story evolved a bit from there, I guess.

So the question is: do you believe what you hear upon the first report? P.T. said: There's a sucker born every minute.

What I think happened was: the individual in question in Hawaii found, not for the first time, that he overdosed on some cocktail of pain medications or other (il)licit drugs and what do you do when you call an ambulance? Do you say to the tape recorder: "Rush Limbaugh took too many oxycontins again and is sick perhaps dying..." or do you say, "Rush Limbaugh is having chest pains."? Recall that the gentleman who made the 911 call for Mr. Woods didn't state who the man was lying on the ground, possibly because he wanted anonymity for himself and his neighbor...or perhaps because he didn't recognize Woods with lacerations, two teeth missing, and blood running down the side of his head. Either way, ain't no one traveling with Rushbo would accurately portray anything about anything at all whatsoever, so why would anyone assume that the statement concerning chest pains was legitimate, and that the managing of this individual's peculiarities would be a matter for a professional who had the temerity to be able to sweetly LIE at any turn. After all, these are hardcore Wingers...do you believe a single, stinking, rotten word that they say?

Just a comment...just trying to think a little out of the box.

1. Perhaps I am not too nice a person but that was my first thought, esp when Rush

told the paramedics he was on "pain meds" for his back, exactly the excuse used for the oxy before. Inquiring minds want to know. Think the Inquirer will take a peek? Nah. Rushbo will be sancropect. It isn't as if he were a Kennedy, so his addiction doesn't "count".

5. If Rush dropped 200-300 pounds then he might

not need those pain pills for his "back problem."

Frankly the guy looks like he is about ready to pop.

11. Thats true. My point was, he is an addict and likely cross addicted.I can't be sorry for him as he
showed no mery to other addicts and would prosecute and convict others for that which he would give himself an exemption because he is so "special". it sickens me when I hear freepers praise his "wisdom". Bleh.:puke:

2. there's a reason
he's still in the hospital. They don't keep someone in the hospital for 2 days for just indigestion. Following an episode of chest pains I spent 7 hours in the ER being tested, monitored and when it was determined that the ticker was just fine I was sent home.

2 days. Yes, there is more to this, IMHO.

6. I spent about 3 hrs and then was sent home. No problem either.

Perhaps, because of Rush's advanced girth, the doctors are having a hard time finding his tiny heart.

3. I have been thinking about this Rush thing and
First we had all those republican senators PRAYING for Senator Byrd to die so he couldn't vote for the Health Care Bill. And the tea bags joined in about wanting Obama to die.

Then we have Oral Roberts a well know right wing preacher who passed away and now Rush in the hospital.

Do you think the ONE upstairs is trying to tell these people something. Do you think he is trying to tell them to SHUT UP. That they are acting like the dregs of society and if they don't shut up more of THEIR timber will fall. I think so. How about you all.

4. I posted a 'sarcastic' thread the other day
pointing out the prayers for Obama to get washed out for his nomination speech, for Byrd to not make it to the floor, etc.and how the fundies should start thinking that God is on our side.

Great minds think alike!!

9. I"m with you, and P.T. on this one.
There is more to it than is publicized.

I'm standing by, still telling my beating heart to be still and taking short shallow breaths.
Tangerine, as someone said in the long thread about her that ran when she died, has gone to work immediately.

:)

12. Could it take 2 days to remove a gerbil from somebody's butt?
Well, you sorta asked us to think outside the box.

13. Well, if you are asking me to let my imagination run wild then...
Rush was probably face down in a pool of his own vomit wearing only a garter belt and stockings. The room was strewn with bourbon bottles, dozens of room service trays with empty, greasy plates and dirty clothes are everywhere. The tables are covered with ashes because Pigboy was too drunk to hit the ashtray when flicking the ash from his cigars and there are smears of cocaine residue all over the place. There are two or three young immigrant boys hiding in the closet wearing nothing but jockey shorts. Hardcore porn is blaring out on all the TV sets and there is the stale stench of vomit, feces and cigar smoke in the air. The bathroom counter is groaning under the weight of El Rushbo's pharmaceutical smorgasboard of drugs. Empty viagra blister packs are everywhere.

That's probably what it looked like before his handlers sanitized the area. I am only guessing of course, but it could be true.
