December 29 1890
On this day about 150 Native Americans were massacred at Wounded Knee Creek, South Dakota. I wonder if the Military or History Channel covered it?

3. I went to the link provided
the story was given about 15 seconds. But first they reported on Sir Thomas Beckett, the London Blitz, Wall Street rising above 4000, then Wounded Knee. I think this the History Channels version of the 20th story, 12th page buried under the daily weather.

2. history channel is on a Jesus jaunt for the past week
And I'm not sure I'd want to see the whitewashed version the military channel would produce.

5. The Army used Hocthkiss guns,
about 1.65 inch cannons. A shell of this size will rip a human body to shreads. These were fired into women and children.

7. Here's my first Google hit on that:
At Wounded Knee Creek. Colonel James Forsyth arrived to take command and ordered his guards to place four Hotchkiss cannons in position around the Indian camp. The soldiers now numbered around 500; the Indians 350, all but 120 of these where women and children. The following morning, December 29, 1890, the soldiers entered the camp demanding the all Indian firearms be relinquished. One of the soldiers tried to disarm a deaf Indian named Black Coyote. A scuffle ensued and the firearm discharged. The silence of the morning was broken and soon other guns echoed in the river bed. At first, the struggle was fought at close quarters, but when the Indians ran to take cover, the Hotchkiss artillery opened up on them, cutting down men, women, children alike, the sick Chief Big Foot among them. By the end of this brutal, unnecessary violence, which lasted less than an hour, at least 150 Indians had been killed and 50 wounded. In comparison, army casualties were 25 killed and 39 wounded. Forsyth was later charged with killing the innocents, but exonerated.

6. I shall not rest quiet in Montparnasse. I shall not lie easy at Winchelsea.
You may bury my body in Sussex grass. You may bury my tongue at Champmedy.
I shall not be there. I shall rise and pass. Bury my heart at Wounded Knee.

10. You mean the White Male HIStory Channel?
Oh wait. I think I saw one show about white women during women's history month one year, and they do usually have a few historically significant black males on during black history month, but normally, I just channel surf right past that colonialist propaganda.
