War Ciminal "President" Bush to receive Purple Heart
Edited on Mon Apr-23-07 03:08 PM by genie_weenie
Gah...

COPPERAS COVE – History will be made today when Copperas Cove resident Bill Thomas and his wife, Georgia, present President George W. Bush with a Purple Heart at the Oval Office.

Thomas said he and his wife came up with the unprecedented idea to present the president with the Purple Heart over breakfast one morning a few months ago as they discussed the verbal attacks, both foreign and domestic, the commander in chief has withstood during his time in office.

"We feel like emotional wounds and scars are as hard to carry as physical wounds," Thomas said.

Edit: Remember last year when Bush talked about being wounded?
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/01/06/wounded/

Hannity is going to love this!!!

Second Edit: Maybe this is all a ruse? Anyone every read the story of Murad I and the aftermath of the Battle of Kosovo 1389?

Last Edit: War Ciminal Bush is more correct...

3. Oh good lord, give me a break
The only war wounds that chickenhawk will ever receive ARE the sticks and stones kind. Why don't they spend some time, money and their newfound free publicity and do something nice for a war widow or someone who has returned from the Iraqi theatre REALLY wounded.

25. So Thomas is giving back his own Purple Heart?
Just like war protesters have done since Vietnam? Or will they (illegally) buy one from a thrift shop and present that? Or will they make one up as a fake decoration (also illegal) and present that?

How the bloody hell can they be allowed to demean the actual medal and the sacrifice it represents?

31. No accounting for taste
From the article at the accompanying link it looks like Mr Thompson earned his purple heart

"We feel like emotional wounds and scars are as hard to carry as physical wounds," Thomas said, also true. Although I haven't seen no such a reward to people who suffer (and some times die) from PTSD, who while serving in the military earned their emotional wounds and scars.

It would surely feel mighty hollow for Mr B***, if he truly feels. No more than a gift or token for the library.

To all who have earned such a reward I thank you.

As these people apparently want to disgrace the service of our wounded veterans with a cheap political stunt, it seems to me as the most logical explanation.

49. "We feel like emotional wounds and scars...
...are as hard to carry as physical wounds."

This nitwit really shouldn't forget that for the duration of the War on Terra Bush has been sleeping just fine despite sending thousands to be killed and maimed. I seriously doubt that Bush gives half a fuck about anyone but himself.

"Congressman Carter called me last week and said the President was very moved by it, and would like us to present it in person," Thomas said.

Nothing is beneath the evil idiot we have in the White House. Nothing.

50. Bush told Iraq War amputees about a scratch he had from clearing brush
"As you can possibly see, I have an injury myself -- not here at the hospital, but in combat with a cedar. I eventually won. The cedar gave me a little scratch. As a matter of fact, the Colonel asked if I needed first aid when she first saw me. I was able to avoid any major surgical operations here, but thanks for your compassion, Colonel."

--George W. Bush, after visiting with wounded veterans from the Amputee Care Center of Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, Jan. 1, 2006

52. Let's see what the Freepers think of this...
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1822191/posts

Some comments below:

I'm touched. I can't think of a more deserving tribute to our Commander In Chief by an American citizen.

And W certainly deserves it. God love him, and those wonderful people who thought it up.

This is a heroic and honorable thing to do...and worthy of our service personel and how they feel.

I believe he deserves the recognition and respect that the award represents...

Yes he does deserve this honor. I think the enemies within (Congressional DIMs come to mind!) are as dangerous as the ones who are terrorizing the middle east.

The emotional wounds and scars this President has endured are indeed as hard to carry as physical wounds.

<Sigh.> I guess this is to be expected from freeper-land. I'm so distressed people can hold this belief. That a man who made sure he did not go into Vietnam can be lauded and praised for receiving a Purple Heart from that war, while a man who earned his in action over in Vietnam can be mocked and ridiculed.

Maybe it's true wisdom, the ability to hold in one's head two diametrically oppossed ideas at the same time.
