Dana Perino: Napolitano "missed the mark" with her tone, needs to "turn up the urgency just a tad"
In the wake of the attempted bombing of a plane bound for Detroit, Rep. Peter King (NY-R) criticized Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for appearing "bored."

"What I was critical of here was that first of all we went almost 48 hours before anyone from the administration came out and even spoke about what happened," explained King Monday.

"Finally, Janet Napolitano comes out and the first thing she said was everything worked well. And she seemed almost like she was bored to be there. There was no intensity. There was no show of emotion," he said.

King was not the only Republican to attack Napolitano's tone. Former George W. Bush spokesperson Dana Perino told Fox News Monday that Napolitano "missed the mark" with her tone and needs to "turn up the urgency just a tad."

2. Screeching hysterically would have been ever so much more appropriate.
God forbid we should have government officials who remain calm during crises.

4. Wasn't she appointed to a position in the federal govt?

If so, should she be primping herself on tv?

Researched and found that she was appointed as a member of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) in November.

6. Napolitano is in public policy administration. She is not a sales clerk like Perino
Janet knows her job. Dana is a spoiled mall rat slave to fashion of terra terra terra in comparison.

9. I've finally decided
that Dana Perino was the absolute worst of W's press secretaries. A bigger liar Fleischer might have been, a bigger bullshitter Tony Snow might have been, and a bigger conscience Scott McLennan might have had, but NO one, absolutely NO one can speak with as much lack of passion--or compassion--as Perino could. It's like staring into the eyes of a person who inside is deader than dead.

It might just be me, but most women are nurturers--even if it's not kids they're nurturing, it's an idea, a dream, or something very dear to their heart. Anyone that has that kind of dispassion has more than just a little bit of psychopath in them.

The repugs are so adept at this stuff--we should give them credit: if Napolitano had more of a reaction, they would say she was panicking; if she showed grace under pressure, they say she's dispassionate. Jesus fucking christ--we really need to learn how they function at all with their complete lack of independence. No matter how someone reacts, they can't win for losing.
