Poll question: Should we go back to having limits on how many threads one poster can post within a 24 hr period?
I ask because whenever I sign on to DU I notice numerous threads from the same posters.
It kinda reminds me of junk mail - filling up the mailbox with nothing new - just their sales pitch.

I know we had limits during the primaries - wondering if any of you wish DU would go back to that...

1. No
While I think some are excessive, and even annoying, I don't support putting a limit on them. I can choose to ignore, or hide thread or not open those threads.

and we're not in the middle of "primary season hell". I think we're covered.

alert and ignore are your friends. Thick hides are necessary in politics. It is a blood sport and no armor will definitely hurt your heart.

28. Yes. Most volume thread starters start weak threads.
There are a few notable exceptions, but if they're starting over three threads a day in GD, they're likely spreading a lot of manure.

Every thought that pops into a person's head does not require a thread on GD about it.

Most worthy topics have dozens of threads about the topic, and most of those threads are vanity threads. What does the thread author think? "Sure, there are already a dozen threads on this, but they're not MY thread!"

Three a day is a good limit. They can go to other boards here to fulfill their need to start threads beyond that. It would reduce the clutter in GD.

30. I expect this kind of post from a newbie. You have no excuse.
Really? You needed an OP to discuss something that has been discussed ad infinitum before and soundly rejected?

If stuff like this bothers you, you need to toughen the fuck up or find someplace else to spout constructive criticism.

31. not for LBN threads, but excessive OP's in a day, yes, like 10. people should be wanting to respond
to what others are talking about, not just having their opinion heard in an OP they started in GD:P or GD. I could see a limit for each forum, that is excessive, but LBN should have none.

when you have the tools to completely control it, is just silly.
