Former Nixon aide Chuck Colson speaks on changing mindset of church.

MOBILE, Ala. - Decrying what he called "the moral collapse" of America and advocating "the Christian understanding of how you live your life," Chuck Colson spoke to a crowd of about 2,000 people who showed up at 6 a.m. Wednesday at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center in downtown Mobile.

Colson, 78, was the keynote speaker for the "12:23 Men of Mobile Bay Christmas Gathering," involving 30 men's religious groups from Mobile and Baldwin counties, with many women, along with area pastors, in the audience too.
The born-again Christian and best-selling author was an aide to President Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal. He entered a guilty plea for obstruction of justice and served time in Maxwell prison in 1974.
