Right wing manipulation

When the right wing claims the HCR bill is awful they aren't looking out for their base. They have think tanks who come up with strategies to fool their base. Case in point, the teabaggers. The manipulation is so bad that some teabaggers are convinced that fascism=socialism and multi-million dollar TV personalities are populists looking out for the working man.

How does this affect the left?

1)Criticism of Obama by the right wing helps to temper left wing criticism. For example comments like, "The plan can't be that bad if the right wing is so upset about it." Mitch McConnell would be upset with any plan that wasn't some sort of Shock Doctrine profiteering rip-off. So his being upset doesn't suggest the plan is better than perceived.

2)Criticism of Obama by the right wing gets conflated with left wing criticism. The criticism is vastly different as the left wing is calling for real reform while the right wing seeks to protect the insurance companies.
