Poof! McCain's a "maverick" again!
McCain Blasts Cheney Over Iraq Failures, Continues To Distance Himself From Escalation Plan

The new Capitol Hill newspaper, The Politico, launches tomorrow. In its lead story — an exclusive interview with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) — the senator lashes out against Vice President Dick Cheney. Roger Simon writes:

With his presidential hopes tied to an administration whose Iraq policy he supports but cannot control, John McCain for the first time blamed Vice President Cheney for what McCain calls the “witch’s brew” of a “terribly mishandled” war in which U.S. forces are on the verge of defeat.

<…>

Although McCain had once lavished praise on the vice president, he said in an interview in his Senate office: “The president listened too much to the Vice President … Of course, the president bears the ultimate responsibility, but he was very badly served by both the Vice President and, most of all, the Secretary of Defense.”

3. Drop Dead Johnny! God forbid you become President.
You will destroy this country. What Bush started, you will finish. You are a lowly opportunist. Your only goal is to be President. You can't take a principled stand, now can you. To you, a flip the "birdie".

PIG!

4. Gosh, wasn't it just October?
Maverick John was saying just in October 2006 how the prescription to make everything in Iraq just as right as rain was to send in another 20,000 troops. Bush announced that he was going to do exactly that in January 2007, and suddenly Maverick John doesn't think it's a good idea at all.

I wonder what happened in those three months to make Maverick John turn on his own advice? Hmmm.

6. McCain is a man of little principles these days. He is a disgrace.
A Toady.

I want to respect his previous service, but quite simply, his tremendous disgrace and unAmerican behavior in kowtowing to a dictator (Bush), has ovcerwhelmed any positive feelings I might have had for the man.

In 2000, I might have voted for him in a general election. No longer.

7. Distance himself? From one WEEK ago: "McCain defends Bush's Iraq strategy"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070112/ap_on_go_co/us_iraq

-------------------------

Fri Jan 12, 4:20 PM ET

WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) defended
President Bush's Iraq plan on Friday as difficult but necessary, parting company with lawmakers fiercely resisting the military build up.

"I believe that together these moves will give the Iraqis and Americans the best chance of success," said McCain, R-Ariz., a leading presidential contender for 2008.

...

On the Senate Armed Services Committee are several staunch Bush supporters, including John Cornyn (news, bio, voting record) of Texas, Jeff Sessions (news, bio, voting record) of Alabama and Saxby Chambliss (news, bio, voting record) of Georgia. In addition to McCain, committee members Lindsey Graham (news, bio, voting record), R-S.C., and Joseph Lieberman (news, bio, voting record), I-Conn., support sending more troops to Iraq.

11. Distance himself? Last week he was all for the surge. I guess 'Maverick 'John read the polls.
This guy annoys me to no end.

If he can suck up to the swine who viciously dissed his wife and child, then I have no faith that he would treat us with any respect. He's just looking for which way the political winds blow and to heck with anyone in his way. Sad.

13. McCain is an unbranded range animal?
According to Dictionary.com, the first definition of Maverick is as follows:

"An unbranded range animal, especially a calf that has become separated from its mother, traditionally considered the property of the first person who brands it."

Maybe Bush got tired of masturbating his horse and has turned to the cow that wandered onto his ranch, John McCain instead. Even though he's blasting Cheney, I still see that McCain is now wearing the Chimp's brand, making excuses for Bush by saying he was "very badly served".
