What's the flame war you remember best ....... but only ones where the overwhelming consensus was that it was YOU who was at fault?

I was at fault in one regarding American Idol. I wouldn't let go and the thread never got locked. Some of the posters with whom I tangled most ferociously in that one are still here, still actively posting ...... and there's no hard feelings of which I'm aware. One of the posters and I made a collateral thread in which I apologized and so did he ... although to be very clear, he had nothing for which he owed me an apology.

No need to name names. And PLEASE don't start a flame war in THIS thread. But what was the one you recall where *you* were the biggest asshole.





edit to add: It seems to me that laughing at oneself is often helpful. I also find that looking down my own pantz every now and again reminds me of how insignificant I really am ... no matter what I think or say at any given time.

6. A long long time ago

I started a thread about the "Brown Shirts" on DU. It would have been a big flame if it had lasted longer than 2 minutes. Got me quick. I had reason, I had been threatened by someone who said he had our names, those of us who had not fallen in line with Kerry when it looked like he was going to get the nomination, and he was going to see to it that we got all the blame for the Dim Son if he won again by posting our names. Something like that. I have not looked back for it for the exact wording but it certainly pissed me off enough, seeing that I was deleted and he was not, to make me stop most of the things I want to say here.

Oops, I meant to add that one of the big threads I remember was on breast feeding in public.
