Washington's winter wallop
The storm hitting the Washington region could bring the largest snowfall to hit the area in six years and the greatest December accumulation in over 70 years.

1. Those pics brought back memories. I lived in Pittsburgh, Pa. for 45 years,
and there's nothing prettier than a newly fallen snow before there are any footprints or tire tracks in it! I used to leave for work very earlym not only to miss the traffic tieups, but to be the first car down the road and the beauty of it all. That part I miss! I sure dont miss scraping ice off the windshield, shivering to death in the cold, unbearable traffic jambs, and having to buy snow tires every year!

2. I agree!
Attaching WaPo, 'cause first page photo of Air Force One is a nice one! They've got a couple nice photos there, that roll over.

3. Those pictures of people hording toilet paper...
The snow will more than likely be gone with the week...

Are they thinking explosive diarrhea will break out in their home just because it is going to snow?

5. I laughed when we first moved to SC in 1987 and I saw the empty shelves,
even when the fortcast was POSSIBLE SNOW! I've lived in southern States since then and never did figure out why they feel toilet paper was so important! The milk, bread, canned soup etc. I can understand.

7. That is not funny because
you haven't seen anything til you see the run on the grocery stores in the DC area. They strip the shelves of everything. You can't find bread or milk.

6. I remember we had back to back snow storms
in the 1980's in the DC area. And that plane crashed into the Potomac. It was terrible. But we get that kind of weather all the time in Minnesota. I suppose the difference is we don't have the roads and the people. So we are slammed like DC and Baltimore and up the East Coast.
