What is a horrible disaster?
How many people have to die before a situation becomes horrific enough that aid is afforded them?

If Katrina 'officially' killed somewhere in the park of 1,836 people. Two different earthquakes in California 1989 - 69 people and 1993 - 57 people died. Somehow these are more naturally out of control to the inflicted then health insurance cutting off when people are most in need. What makes the disaster inflicted on these people any less horrific?

The health insurance disaster is worse than Galveston Texas. Pretty much every month more people are killed by their insurance situation than the worst natural disaster in US history. Look it up, sad fact really.

So every month nothing gets done to resolve the health situation a unnatural disaster occurs. It is not windy, wet, and doesn't destroy property; the sacred cow what makes a disaster in the United States a real disaster. This disaster is a silent disaster, that is preying on an American near you.

1. It's also killing more Americans than terrorism.
Yet we're not at war with the insurance industry--and its a much cheaper war to fight than insurgents in Afghanistan.

2. The pity is that this is so obvious to us, but not to others.
I watch Bernie Sanders work on behalf of the people, and I wonder why every member of Congress, with the power at their fingertips to provide food and healthcare to every citizen, is not doing the same thing.

They live in privilege. They travel at taxpayer expense. They have government-run healthcare and a clinic at their disposal. Why so much apathy and contempt for those without their privileges?

Here's the real disaster: Oligarchy. The victims? We the people.

4. We are not within their perspective of what is most important.
You know what is, that fucking dollar value associated to property. It is so damn important they go to all the trouble to 'adjust' for the increased cost of living. These days cost of living feels more like cost of profiteering.

Why don't they adjust the death toll for changes in population density?

Dear Mr. President,

Since I had to bare witness in my life to the rise of American Fascism. Could you please for Christmas destroy it before it kills me and my family?

Best Regards,

Low man on the totem pole
