3. Two answers: Yes and Hell Yes. Our retrospect is blurred by our current malaise.
The malaise caused by the fact that NOW the Democrats are not changing Bush's foolishness but are adding to it. Gore would have taken a better path. We are now on the drunken bush path to self destruction.

As members of a specific party? Since the early 80's, I really haven't seen a striking difference between the 2 parties.
