How Can This Be? Re-appoint This Idiot to head the fed?
"Ben Bernanke has overseen the greatest expansion of the Federal Reserve's balance sheet in its history, pouring trillions of dollars into Wall Street firms at roughly zero interest rates.

His generosity, however, has a limit.

In testimony before the Senate Banking Committee today, where he's seeking re-appointment as the Fed's chairman, Bernanke called for cutbacks in Medicare and Social Security even as unemployment rises and the middle class is endangered.

Citing legendary bank robber Willie Sutton, Bernanke said of the retirement and health care funds that are the legacy of the New Deal: "That's where the money is."

I am sure he will get re-appointed, and rememeber- OBAMA IS THE ONE APPOINTING THIS GUY!!!

As is so often stated: it's not a flaw, it's a feature. These are Obama's guys, and his policies. Primary 2012. 1 Term President, I hope.

1. There is no way Obama will lose in 2012 (I feel good)
I think that a primary would be good for Obama. It will help him steal the center.

2. Obama is running off his supporters.
I don't want a Republican in the White House in 2012, but if Obama keeps this up there's no way that isn't going to happen. :wtf:

5. Well a lot of his supporters are saying they should have voted
for Hillary. She wouldn't let these people get away with this. But you couldn't say any thing about Obama being wet behind the ears and easily led they came down on you and wouldn't let you post.

6. and LaRouchites like Paul will channel rightful anger into right-wing-populist causes
so they'll be chanting "end the Fed" as though the Fed wasn't a mere symptom of the free-market worship that the libertarians/Beckites push!

8. How is the Fed a symptom of free-market worship? The Fed is a monopoly, and, theoretically at least,

9. Terrible choices
Obama has made terrible choices to run his treasury/economic team. Geitner for one. Now he is backing Bernacnke. I thought Obama was smarter than that.
