No Rachel Maddow with your sausage and gravy

Columbus resident and Bob Evans stockholder Ray Karlsberger was enjoying a mid-week dinner at the Canal Winchester restaurant when something turned his stomach.

It wasn’t related to his meal, but rather, a 32-inch flat-screen monitor above the counter. It was tuned to Fox News. On mute. With closed caption.

Karlsberger asked a staff person if maybe he could watch something a little more agreeable with his evening meal—maybe CNN? MSNBC?

He was told by the wait staff that employees were not permitted to change the channel.

Later in the month, when Karlsberger and his wife were told they had to watch the muted Fox News station over the World Series, the Bob Evans stockholder took his complaints to the corporate office.

“They referred me to district manager, who told me the television monitors were part of a test program,” Karlsberger said.

....

“I found it highly offensive that they would come up with a policy like that. I do not want Glenn Beck with my dinner.”
