WHY CAN'T WE GET BUSH ON THE STAND?
The fucking Rethugs had no problems whatsoever dragging Clinton on the witness stand over an alleged fucking extramarital affair. So why is it, with REAL crimes being committed by this administration on such a routine basis, that we can't get either Fuckface or Cheney on the witness stand?

1. Clinton was
forced to testify in a civil suit against him. Technically, the republicans didn't make him do it.

3. A civil suit that the Republicans allowed to proceed
Remember, there was a question of whether or not a sitting president could be sued, or if it would have to wait until he left office. And who was the prosecutor? The GOP's golden boy, Kenneth Starr!

4. It was allowed to proceed
by a unanimous decision of the Supreme Court - it wasn't just republicans.

And yes, I know about Ken Starr.

My point was a simple one - you want Bush under oath? Sue him.

The congressional republicans did not put clinton under oath, and the congressional Democrats will not get Bush under oath.

8. The SCOTUS Let It Proceed
They ruled that a sitting President could be litigated against in a civil court. This opened the door for the Paula Jones witchhunt that was funded by groups affiliated with Repugnicans. Ironically, the Rutherford Institute, that all but paid Paula Jones' salary were on a letter calling for Gonzo's resignation.

There's no reason someone couldn't press a civil suit against booosh, but it would have to be on a personal "sin" such as a blowjob. I don't think a former Gitmo prisoner could sue him directly...but maybe could go for a class action suit.

12. Can veterans and soldiers sue?
I wonder if the president has some sort of immunity from being sued by members of the military.

11. You don't believe it?
OK... write your own history.

But Clinton was sued by Paula Jones. The SCOTUS held that a sitting President could be sued. So he had to testify in the suit.

Were right-wingers supportive of the whole pursuit? Yes.

Did congressional republicans force Clinton to testify? No.

... He'll claim executive privilege like he always has, and then throw one of his cronies to the wolves like he did Rice during the 9/11 hearings, he and his butt-buddy Cheney can sit in their orifices, grinning like the fat-cats they are.... "heh--heh" :grr:
