And no, I'm not ignoring the others (my candidate of choice isnt in the 3)
This is purely out of curiosity

I'd go with Edwards

6. Of the three, Ewards
I've always liked Edwards, but this time around, I think he's got game.

My first choice would be Al (actual second would be Dennis, but he has as much chance of being elected President
as I do).

Beyond that, I've not yet decided. However if she wins the primary I'll vote for her. There's no way I'm willing to be even incrementally responsible for the election of another republican. I'm not crazy.

Edited on Fri Apr-20-07 05:51 AM by RestoreGore
Because I know no matter who the annointee is they are only going to be a part of the military industrial complex that continues the status quo and I see no signs of that changing in a year's time, nor the way people in this country care more for entertainment in their political campaigns than substance. So at this point, someone please tell me what's the point to all of this? The Democratic controlled Congress can't even kick Bush and his traitorous bunch out. Why should I then think ANYTHING is going to change in the next "election?" I then don't have time to be obsessed over this when real work needs to be done now.

47. Of these three, this week it's Obama--Last week it was Edwards. Next week who knows.
Neither has the sort of experience that makes me confident that they could actually run the country but I rate both over Clinton because of her stance on the Iraq war.

I like Edwards positions on the issues. He's taken the effort to present well thought out programs and has added a good deal of intellectual heft to his campaign that belied his image of something of a lightweight. That's why that crap with the $400 haircut bugged me. A politician with the unfortunate nickname of "The Breck Girl" should never, never let let the fact that he plops down more dough on his "do" than most families spend on food for a month--much less allowed himself to be videoed preening before a make up mirror--now available for you viewing pleasure on You Tube all to the tune of "I Feel Pretty". Not good, Elizabeth, please smack some sense into your guy.

Obama, so far, has run an incredible campaign and amazingly for a greenhorn has not made any mistakes. I'd like to hear a little more substance from him--no doubt he's a very smart guy--I'd just like to know where he's planning to take us.

If I had to vote today and choose from the current field, I'd probably vote for Bill Richardson. I don't agree with him on every issue, but on two big ones, the Iraq War and Global Warming he has both excellent positions and a track record that makes me think he could actually do what he says he wants to do. That being said he is bugging me with his refusal to call for Alberto Gonzales' resignation.

C'mon Bill, yes, the guy's Hispanic and it's too bad that the first Hispanic in this very important position turned out to be both a fool and a tool but frankly, just between you and me, you wouldn't hire this guy to represent you in a real estate deal--much less make him Attorney General, would you?

61. Edwards --He is putting out specifics behind his plans, and showing leadership
Edwards has been putting out specifics behind his plans. It would be helpful if the rest would do the same so that we can see exactly how they plan to implement and fund their commitment to 'universal healthcare' etc.

Edwards has committed to wiping out poverty in then next 30 years, and has established an anti-poverty center at UNC-Chapel Hill at no cost to the University.

Edwards has already been working to provide college education for disadvantaged students, and providing students with assistance at the high school level which will prepare them for acceptance by a college.

Edwards has been reacting first to plainly anti-Democratic practices and plots. Edwards was first to pull out of Murdock's Fox News hosted debate of the candidates in Nevada, and then with the Congressional Black Caucus.

Edwards has been tirelessly helping build the local Democratic Party from the ground up in places like Iowa, and it is reflected in the polls --especially regarding overall 'favorability' ratings.

Edwards is the only one of the three projected in polling to beat all Repub candidates in head to head races.

Edwards has the highest polling among the three with independents/undecideds and unaffiliated voters.

Any one of the three would make a good President and will get my support if they gain the Democratic nomination. However, I believe Edwards should be the top choice, and would likely be the most electable of the three.

71. As long as it isn't Clinton, I'm ecstatic with anyone we nominate. Edwards, Obama, whoever.
My top choices would be Clark or Gore, but my top priority is the "Anyone but Hillary" camp I'm in.

78. If Gore does not run, I am thinking strongly of wanting a woman
for president. I think Hillary would be a very intelligent and serious president, but after the greatest buffoon in US history even an amoeba at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean would look good. You dems choose and I will work my heart out for whomever you select.

Al Gore would just about do it, he isn't running so his stance on issues isn't clear.

87. Mine's not in the top 3 either.
Al Gore is the man for me.

If I had to pick one of the top three you listed, I'd say Edwards, followed VERY closely by Obama. A Gore/Edwards or Gore/Obama ticket would be A-Ok with me!

88. Obama.
One of his negatives (experience) is actually a positive in my opinion. We need someone to take office that has not been tainted by spending 20+ years in washington.

After reading his book about 3 years and before he became popular, he already had me won over as my choice for president.

90. Sadly, none of them, with Edwards last.
I like the first poster's choices much better.

93. Biden is this Election's Dark Horse Candidate

FIrst of all you have video comparisons of Biden outlining
the first real plan for setting up a weak central government federation in Iraq.
truly the only thing that will work.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz5LOpM5iFg
now you have respected journalists endorsing him as having had the lead all along. - Thomas Friedman NYTimes.

and here you have a website that shows him head to head with all the candidates.

the video here speaks for itself.

http://www.headtohead08.com/

he just got $50 from me ,and I was a former dean supporter, dean technically won the election last time, it was the press, Kerry paid attack ads and a disrespect for good PR that pushed him off the top.

this time, Biden is too wise to make those mistakes.

Biden will be the Dem. nominee in 2008.
