Can someone get a message to Harry Reid?
Mr. Reid:

If you lose the public option because you refused to allow and up and down vote and instead insisted on a 60 vote majority than you alone are responsible for the certain ensuing catastrophe.

Your ego, your stubbornness, your fear; whatever inane reason you tell yourself to justify such a losing scenario will be the cause of thousands of deaths of American citizens.

I want you to know that. I want you to know that it is you who will be responsible. No one else. You.

Petitions have been signed, calls made, faxes and emails sent. You know how the Democrats in this country feel about this vote.

I suggest you listen to the American people and the Democrats who gave you this job. And your job is to get the bill passed.

That's it. Get the bill passed. If you don't do it because of any of the than you will have the blood of thousands of American men, women, children, babies and the elderly on your hands.

I am sick of your excuses. Get the bill passed.

Signed by the sick and suffering;

The people who pay your salary.

3. You may as well be insulting him for refusing to be a dictator.

After all, Reid could simply declare that the bill is currently passed, with no vote. There would be no U.S. Senate parliamentary standing army to stop him.

Back in the real world, bills have required 60 votes to pass for decades. This isn't some new idea that Reid cooked up to make his job harder. The main pillars of legislative agendas of both parties have died on this requirement (Bush tax cuts expiring now because they couldn't get 60 votes then, ANWR drilling, Social Security destruction, Campaign finance reform in the late 80s, Bush's tort reform plan, etc.)

So you can whine a lot. You can accuse Reid of having blood of thousands on his hands etc etc etc. You can even repeat it over and over again, expecting that this somehow makes what you are saying more true than it was the first time you said it.

But none of this 5-year-old whining makes any of what you are saying the slightest bit true. It might be therapeutic and it might make you feel better, but it doesn't do much beyond that.

4. First off you do not have to act like a know it all to make your point and you
do not have to hurl insults either, (unless you cannot make your point with facts)

Alan Grayson has a petition up asking Reid for an up and down vote. Health care reform would not "lapse". Plenty of bills are passed with a simple up or down vote. Republicans use them all the time.

So if you think you are smarter than Alan Grayson than keep talking. Otherwise you point is noted.

"We the undersigned believe the time has come for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to get on with it.

For the last six months, Democrats have been dwelling, debating, and hoping for Republican Olympia Snowe to vote for health care reform.

Why?

Olympia Snowe was not elected President last year. Olympia Snowe has no veto power in the Senate. Olympia Snowe represents a state with one half of one percent of America's population.

America doesn't care if it gets 51 votes in the Senate or 60 votes in the Senate or 83 votes in the Senate.

Every year, over 44,000 Americans die because they don't have health care.

We stand with Alan Grayson and implore: What are we waiting for?
