It was when the producer was on at the end. Did they really do that?

He laughed and said something about being "hazed?". It was not at the end of the DVR recording, though. I only caught part of it as the phone rang.

1. He was having a problem seeing it.
Prior to that he misread a few sentences.

2. I think I heard him say about being "deprived" of the teleprompter
and being razzed or hazed?

4. I can not be the only one who heard that.
Would they really have done that?

5. Hazing is a regular occurrence in the TV biz.
You see it a lot more at the local level, though.

Glad Dr. Dean laughed it off.

7. I was surprised they would do it.
Yes, he laughed it off.

I would not have thought it was a thing they would do. Thanks for clarifying.

8. One time when I was doing a local, legal call-in show ...
... only the third time I had ever been on T.V., during the middle of the show, the host reached over, under the desk, and grabbed my leg very close to my crotch while I was responding to a legal question that had been called in by a viewer. I'm on camera speaking to the caller--it's a close-up with just me in the screen, and did my darned best to keep a straight face and keep talking even though I was very distracted.

This was not a come on. It was hazing. After the show, I laughed it off too, and I gained a lot of TV cred. with the station's staff from having handled it well. Reviewing the tape, I only noticed a brief change in my expression during the incident.

Trust me. It's common.

6. That explains his delivery, I guess.....
He sounded more wooden than William Shatner a few times. I'm thinking.... this doesn't sound like our usual Dr. Dean.

Thank God his list of guests more than made up for it. Bernie, Weiner, and Spitzer all on the same show, complete with approrpriate bashing of false reform and Wall Street criminals. Great hour of TV, all things considered.

9. I think he is a better interviewee...but hard to believe a prank like that.
On national TV yet, they played around with the teleprompter when a new person is on.
