Oath Keepers - Preparing for a Coup?
Anyone heard of this latest nutballery?

http://www.lvrj.com/news/oath-keepers-pledges-to-prevent-dictatorship-in-united-states-64690232.html

More specifically, the group's members, which number in the thousands, pledge to disobey orders they deem unlawful, including directives to disarm the American people and to blockade American cities. By refusing the latter order, the Oath Keepers hope to prevent cities from becoming "giant concentration camps," a scenario the 44-year-old Rhodes says he can envision happening in the coming years.

It's a Cold War-era nightmare vision with a major twist: The occupying forces in this imagined future are American, not Soviet.

"The whole point of Oath Keepers is to stop a dictatorship from ever happening here," Rhodes, a former Army paratrooper and Yale-trained lawyer, said in an interview with the Review-Journal. "My focus is on the guys with the guns, because they can't do it without them.

1. I think the CDC needs to look into the distinct possibility that this level of
insanity is in fact a contagious disease. Perhaps it's a novel prion disease.

2. Fucking Idiots All
One nice thing is these whackos think they are being all patriotic so they aren't afraid to let everyone know who they are. That makes it a lot easier to keep an eye on them.

8. If your president asked the military to blockade cities
to disarm, and possibly even execute the citizens, would you want these guys to do that? I realize we feel like, where were you when * was in charge, but isn't this "oath" a good thing? I'd prefer not to have jackboots at my door (or my neighbors), regardless of who is in charge.

11. If it were genuine and legitimate, sure.
But it's so patently obvious that it's disengenuous. To me, it's the first step in starting an insurrection. I can't see how the military can allow them to put these badges on their uniforms.

15. Better still, where were these guys when martial law was declared
in several inner city areas and college campuses? Where were they when African Americans were being beaten and killed? Where were they when college kids protesting the War were beaten and killed?

I bet these same so-called patriots would have had no compunction while watching the cities and campuses burn.

16. I agree, but since they're saying this
shouldn't they be pushed to fully understand and feel compelled to comply what they're actually saying? I am more than willing to give up a dark past for a bright future.

So, rather than smack them down I'd prefer to make them live up to it and help them understand why they should. They are, after all, human beings. So, the information in their minds can change, which changes the person's behavior.

I don't delude myself about what our military has done at home, and is potentially capable of when the tool is in the wrong hands.

14. I know zilch about Oath Keepers, but the militia folks have been very active over the course of...
... a handful of pres admins. Some of their views I agree with, at least in the concern for potentially overt tyrannical govt ... but I'm not loaded for bear, dressed in fatigues, booby-trapping our property or anything.
