I suggest the rest of us do the same.

Thank you Admin for moving our store over to Zazzle. It wasn't just DU that I bought items from Cafe Press. When I wanted to find some unique gifts - I went there too. I will not spend a dime and I suggest the rest of us should send our message and let them know that threats against the President do NOT make for fun merchandise in their store.

There's the handy link to their message center. Let's overwhelm them with complaints!

7. I did that yesterday and this is
the answer I received:

Cafepress looks at content on a case by case basis, and makes decisions about what content is permissible based on our content usage policy.

Anti-presidential gear has been a mainstay at Cafepress since we were founded in 1999 and has become a key component of political discourse. Our site has become a cultural barometer of public opinion and as such designs often come into question. In managing our content we are trying to protect self expression, while making sure we are not advocating violence.

We initially pulled the Psalm 109:8 content from our products today because broader media dialog indicated that these designs potentially suggested violence towards the president. Based on current public discourse and further review of the actual content, we have determined that it is fair political commentary and we are in the process of reinstating this merchandise. As with all of our content, these designs will continue to be reviewed and if at any time their meaning is construed as advocating violence we will revisit our decision.

Damn, I'm sorry I ever bought anything from this place. If anything happens they are responsible for letting it be advertised.

8. It's one thing to mock the president
it's another to wish physical harm upon him.

If Cafe Press can't see the difference then boycott.

And even though DU is moving to Zazzle - I think it's important we let them know that this is unacceptable!

17. They have a poll on their blog that's getting KILLED. 92% say it's inappropriate
with lots of comments below.

Here is mine:

I have had a cafepress store for years with lot of political items available in my store. As much as I opposed the Bush administration on every level and offered a range of products stating that opposition, I NEVER ONCE offered products advocating violence against him. These supposed Christians can wrap up their message in a nice package of “prayer” but they are advocating violence. They are “praying” that “his children be fatherless and his wife be a widow.” If their products had actually said “I’m hoping and praying that the President gets assassinated” would you even be debating whether they should be pulled? It’s disgusting and I won’t be a part of any company that allows it.

21. Click on the 'sticker'- "product not available"- seems we're having
an effect!!

I searched and all the items have been removed.

Now, how long will they stick with this decision.

:hi:

I really hope you're going to remove, PERMANENTLY, that disgusting, disgraceful line of products that uses a Bible quote to advocate killing our President.

I can't possibly consider doing business or placing an order with a company that allows this. You're giving them an implicit endorsement if you do. Frankly it makes me wonder if somebody at CafePress wants to see the president killed, because you're putting YOUR money and your name behind this.

Thanks, LynneSin, for posting this. I don't do a lot of business with CafePress. I certainly won't be doing - or considering - ANY, because of this.
