So, a naive coworker sends me a right leaning e-mail, and I "reply all"....
With a scathing retort. The coworker doesn't mind, and often thanks me for the snopes links and for setting her straight.

Anyway, the e-mail.... you know the rightie e-mail; it's the one where Rushbo says we have an entitlement culture and then goes on to cite how little compensation families of dead soldiers receive, as opposed to the that received by families of 9/11 victims.

I replied that Rush never served and needs to shut up, and that our military are volunteers, and don't serve for reasons of compensation, and few are complaining about it. I also stated that people in uniform KNOW they can die any day on the job and are ready for it, while the folks in the towers had little idea what was coming. I further stated that while the difference is still something I myself am not entirely comfortable with, Rush still needs to STFU, as he used an ass-cyst to stay out of 'Nam.

Well, I DID "reply all", so....

I should've been prepared when some wing-nut opened up on me about how I must not have served and don't know anyone in uniform currently. He also starts quoting all the Hannity/O'Reilly/Beck talking points, and asks "are you for real?"

I mentioned my 18A MOS and experience in Operations Just Cause and Desert Storm, but he just denigrates my service, and claims he was in Vietnam for 3 years as Jolly Green Giant Rescue Service, and that he fought "in a real war, and wasn't a reservist like Bush" (It's like he totally ignored the years I told him I was active duty.)

How should I handle this moron? Where we left it is that I told him he could have his own opinions, but not his own facts, and that it is truly useless for me to even talk to him until he gets his facts straight. I know asshat won't let this go, though, and that he'll be back.

Any links or material I can use?

3. We won Desert Storm but lost Vietnam.

You can also say 'Sorry I wasn't able to choose the war I fought in', also referencing to you being too young for Nam and that him saying it wasn't a real war is disrespectful to those who lost their lives might be good. Call his bluff on his service due to the fact that someone in the military would never actually criticize someone else's service.

He is a liar. Jolly green etc Is he trying to say he was flying chinooks for medivacs? I knew a striker that did 3 or 4 tours. He was fucked up physically & mentally, but a fine soldier who taught me a lot.

6. Just say 'I refer you my earlier email where I pointed out (service record)'.
A lot of people don't bother to read properly.

7. If you really have nothing better to do---or if you just want to have fun with a wingnut, try this:
Reread my last post: you are not worth arguing with. Winning would be like dunking over Gary Coleman: What's the point?
