BREAKING: The Attorney General of the United States is dumber than a bag of doorknobs.
Gonzales was just asked how he would act differently in implementing the decisions made regarding these USAGs. He needed to ask the definition of "implementing," saying, "By implementing, you mean what to do after the decision?" Amazing. Astonishing. The man before us is as unqualified an official as any we have seen...and boy howdy, that's saying a lot. No answers, no memory, and a 50-word vocabulary. Unreal.

Dumber than a bag of doorknobs...and really dumb doorknobs at that.

35. I don't. In fact, I'd refer him to examinations for Alzheimer's for further
grounds to support his removal. Can we afford to have somebody with such a frickin' faulty memory in such a critical job? GEEZ.

I guess with this bunch, you only have to be smart enough to cover george w bush's tracks sufficiently when he's running for high office.

Edited on Thu Apr-19-07 02:11 PM by HamdenRice
He is asked to defend the indefensible. He is also told to answer questions about obviously felonious behavior without providing the information that would cause himself and others to be indicted.

So his schtick is to repeat himself, ask for clarification, make increasingly bizarre justifications, etc.

I don't think anyone can be as dumb as the act he puts on.

That said, I did not see his testimony today -- this is based on his past performances.

Quite the imagery. LOL

But it IS truly sad and totally pathetic.

When I contemplate how truly trashed our justice and penal systems are because of this idiocy and all the innocents suffering and all these blatant criminal cruising around with falsely presumed impunity, my 50% 13th generational American blood starts to boil.

Hopefully, this day will be the metaphoric crack in the Liberty Bell.

44. I think the Habeas Corpus comment on 1/18/07 takes the stupid grand prize,
but this is close.

Gonzales claimed the Court did not cite such a right, then added, “There is no express grant of habeas in the Constitution.”

Specter pushed back. “Wait a minute. The constitution says you can’t take it away, except in the case of rebellion or invasion. Doesn’t that mean you have the right of habeas corpus, unless there is an invasion or rebellion?” Specter told Gonzales, “You may be treading on your interdiction and violating common sense, Mr. Attorney General.”

45. Reagan knows just as much ...

Reagan knows just as much about the firings of these attorneys and he's DEAD!!! Maybe they should call Reagan's corpse to testify.

What is amazing to me is listening to him talk about how the attorney's in question "were aware" from the documentation. At no point will he cop to the fact that he never TOLD these attorney's that he was unhappy with their performance and would like prosecutions of "voter fraud" cases.

What is completely disturbing is the potential of people BELIEVING what Gonzalez is saying and still not wanting him to step down. The Attorney General of the United States apparently allows his assistant to fire Federal Attorneys (the people who actually get the work done) without even bothering to find out what their actual performance is.

At what point did we lose the concept that the people in charge should actually be ON TOP OF THINGS. That they should be competent and that they should know when they have to document things.

Of course Gonzalez is lying. But his lies completely indict his own competency and it is mind numbing that people can here that and have confidence in this guy.

Show me a doorknob that can utter those 3 words with such alacrity and regularity. Nor, are doorknobs known for their ability to lie, obfuscate, and avoid.

Now, if you were to compare the Boob-in-Chief's intellectual capabilities to a bag of mentally challenged doorknobs, you would have a case.

If you can't count on your performance to make you valuable to an employer, you have to depend on being a good suck up. Bad bosses love people like this because they will never make waves and can be counted on to carry out whatever the boss wants, which may be nothing at all. But the boss owns you then.
