Picture the Debate: Obama vs. Palin.
Other than in our imagination, it will NEVER happen. Never never never never never.

Somebody PLEASE tell me ONE thing of substance Sarah Palin has EVER said. How in the world could she ever debate President Obama?

On any subject, has she ever said anything that had any weight whatsoever? Every tv show is talking about her, but none them shows her saying anything that matters to anybody but her and people attracted to shiny objects, I guess. Is there anything anywhere more unsubstantial than this woman? Conventional wisdom is she has real conservative policy cred, but she never says anything about it other than "Drilll, Baby, Drill." Is she afraid to come out and say it? What is that?

I can just picture that debate. Mohammed Ali vs. The Taco Bell Chihuahua. Bring. It. On.

5. Reagan won his debates with the twinkle in his eye, nothing more.
She thinks her wink will get her through. And maybe it could, if there are enough dumb Americans.

6. +1
People underestimate the power Democratic sellouts, policy failures and arrogance give to the far right- and sap from their own base.

Personally, after watching the way Democrats have behaved- it won't surprise me in the slightest if they lose big in 2010- and then get the wrong message, take more corporate money- and lose their young people and GOTV.

Palin may indeed end up as the nominee- and even if she doesn't win, Dems LOSE AGAIN through their own abject FAILURE to stand for something- or God forbid, to stand up and fight- and maybe lose on the issues, while representing traditional Democratic values.

Bottom line is that no one wants to back cowards- most of all Americans.

7. On the other hand,
Obama can't win by appealing only to the Democratic base anymore than Palin could win by appealing only to the Republican base.

It's the vast territory in the middle that decides elections, unless a spoiler like Nader jumps in.

9. The President doesn't debate women well
He sucked against Hillary one on one. Not comparing Palin to Hillary but the President would need a little more discipline on his one liners and snappy retorts.

12. The President won the nomination
Edited on Tue Nov-17-09 08:00 AM by AllentownJake
in February. Hillary went for a hail mary after that.

Reminder that as the process went on, Hillary got closer and closer, she was just too far behind to actually catch up.

A bad debate doesn't mean you necessarily lose an election.

11. You wanna know how Palin would debate President Obama?
The MSM whore running the damned thing would make sure she was taken seriously, and right after, Blitzer & Co. would be there to tell us how surprisingly well she did.

Just like last time.
