"No act of terrorism on American soil since 9/11"
Cheney et al have been saying this over and over again.

The other day, when I heard how Hassan gave his opinions about Muslim soldiers instead of talking about health issues as he was supposed to do; when I heard about his mediocre performance as a student and as psychiatrist; when I heard about how some of his supervisors were concerned - but said nothing because of PC - I thought: hey, and all this happened under the Bush-Cheney regime.

So who is responsible to the Ft. Hood attack that some may consider an act of terrorism?

Well, Darth Vader himself.

I know that had it been the opposite, a new Republican President after years of a Democratic one, the RWers would be screaming their heads off about the "damage" done by the "liberals."

2. Two grenades exploded outside the Mexican Consulate in New York in 2007
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2007/10/hand-grenades-e.html

And two "toy grenades filled with gunpowder" exploded at the British Embassy in New York in 2005:

Neither of these is the spectacular "smoking gun is a mushroom cloud" that the media likes to report, but still...

3. could be they hoped hasan wouldn't explode until they needed
him. how else to explain the blind eye? especially since there is no blind eye to the rest of us. i'm taking my shoes off at the airport and hasan is emailing a radical cleric? sounds like a follow-up was needed here. of course, perhaps they WERE watching him closely to get info from the imam but just never anticipated this.

6. They were using him to get to AQ training bases in Afghanistan
He was going to be tracked, they figured he would join up with AQ once he got to Afghanistan. That's why they promoted him, they wanted him to be a coveted recruit. What better propaganda for AQ than a turned army major who could tell the world and the islamic people how mentally damaged our troops are because of the war.

They never expected him to loose it before he was shipped out.

5. Yup, they already started
An Op-Ed in the WSJ that will spread like wildfire in the right wingers field:

In our time, nothing was bigger than the nearly 3,000 killed on September 11. But anyone who got involved with the development of public policy then knows that for the next seven years the battle never stopped over the details of the Patriot Act, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, then Guantanamo, then waterboarding, renditions and secret prisons and all the other issues that for some could be summed up in two words: "Bush-Cheney."

10. Because they can blame the attack on the USS Cole
and "missing" bin Laden in 1998, I think, on Clinton while praising their "security" rules on their regime.
