3. The last one says it all

and we desperately need to redefine the Pentagon's mission as one not of economic empire but one of domestic defense. We need to bring them all home.

If corporations need protection overseas, it's because they're being bad guests and need to modify their business practices. Using the military as their hired muscle has got to stop, especially since they consider themselves exempt from compensating that muscle or paying for the equipment necessary for their jobs.

Modern warfare destroys the people involved in it, from civilians to military. We need to avoid it at all costs.

Modern warfare is also financially ruinous. This country has found what all other empires have found before it, that we can't afford empire, either in terms of national wealth, civil liberties, or cost in ruined lives.

We need to be very careful about when and why we send our best and brightest off to the slaughter. We haven't been for as long as I've been alive, and it has to stop.

Now.

Warpy, not a veteran of war, but of the VA system and trying to put the survivors of it back together again.
