We know the disease, now to the cure.
I will not take up your time listing the present administration’s offences against the Constitution, International law, and the good name of every man, woman, and child who call themselves Americans. I will not vent my anger in words, nor exclaim my want for satisfaction by castigating the carrion who have effectively taken control of the greatest nation on earth. But I will tell you how we can defeat them without ever firing a shot, or breaking a single law. I will tell you a way reflective of the ways of Ghandi, Michael Collins, and the labor movement of the 1930s. I will tell you how to defeat a dragon far too powerful to slay and bullies too cowardly to be feared. And then I will tell you how a courageous people will win back their nation with a dramatic refusal to participate.
Currently, our government is not our own. I have personally witnessed the dispatch with which even our most revered Representatives in Washington treat the general public and the low esteem in which they hold us. I have, myself, been presumed to lack the intelligence or determination to overcome nonsensical rhetoric and denials of evident truths, and I have been assumed incapable of mounting any serious threat to their continued occupancy in the offices on Capitol Hill. In short, let me say that our present Representatives have as little to do with democracy as pedophile priests have to do with God. And it is through them that we will defeat those who are their masters, just as our founders intended.
As David Lindorff points out, our system of governance is the product of noble minds; of men inspired by a land as grand as their imaginations, and by a time when reason illuminated the basic truth that life is best when there is equality and freedom for all. That noble inspiration has been replaced by the basest nature of man, the want for power. And so, the inevitable moment in our history as a nation of free people has come, when we must act in defense of our heritage of freedom and the future of our democracy.
That single act will come through our unity, our courage, our intelligence, and our love of freedom. That single act will not seek to slay the dragon of tyranny, but to starve it of our labor, our blood, and our money, until it withers and dies. That single act will not be one of political activism, but of collaborative inactivity, defiant and absolute. That single act will be completely non-violent. It will not take up arms but rather render all arms useless against it. It will not allow a single injury to our people, but will, in fact, restore much of what made America a land of families and contentment. That single act has been, in the past, called a national strike, but we shall call it simply The Plan to Restore America, because we will not simply remove the worst among us from the high offices above us, but in doing so, we will restore our own selves to that of a people of willing principles and high standards.
