Hundreds of everyday Americans come together to launch the Showdown in Chicago. Commission findings will be shared with the Obama Administration, Members of Congress, and the Angelides Commission.

9. Maybe this could be a way to reach out to "moderate" conservatives who are also angry about this.
Corporates vs non-corporates is making more sense now than liberal vs conservative.

I'm not in a particularly peaceful mode, and I have no love for the crap the RW has done, but if this is a way to relate to them that will open their eyes, then .....

If only *I* don't have to be the one to do it.

Seriously, there really is common ground here.

DEATH TO THE CORPORATIONS! :toast:

Maybe the Billionaires For Wealthcare can do a great action there?

12. I did an OP many months ago about this very idea.
I said that the "left" should be working on the ground to direct all the anger that's out there to the proper target.

Needless to say, my OP dropped like a stone. But I'm used to that... :)

13. Well, dammit, if you'd STOP being so fucking cerebral!
I mean.... talking about strategery in a practical way....

:wtf:

It's ever so much more fun to demonize... and then deride the RW for demonizing us...

fiddling all the while...

What was the question again?

:loveya:

16. LOL!
Wait... are you calling me a head case?

I s'pose most DUers would never believe it, but in my real life I pretty much get along with just about everyone. I listen to people, ask gentle questions, take their concerns seriously, and try to find some bit of common ground on which to build a sense of common purpose.

Not the outright nutballs and bigots, of course. But there are so many people out there who are confused and hurting and have no idea why they're feeling so fucked over. They don't understand who their real enemies are.

OUR most important task in this life is to point their ire in the right direction. It takes patience, compassion, and creativity. But it can be done.

It CAN'T be done by dismissing them as stupid, delusional, or congenitally evil.

15. Yanno.... a friend and I put together two pages of health care info, and have been copying them and
handing them out.

The same could be done about corporate facts... just a page tho... wouldn't want to give them eyestrain.

But, beware the fallout... when their anger finds its real target.... heads will roll....
