Fred Armisen.

8. Their political sketches can be very funny.
Their Thursday night Update shows were at times excellent, and the primary go-round was excellent. Otherwise...much of it is fairly weak. They need to figure out why.

4. Smartest move SNL can make with an Obama sketch
Get Fred Armisen off the stage as quickly as possible.

7. For those that missed it,
Barack was in the Oval Office talking with senators about the health care bill. He got angry and turned into "The Rock Obama", played, naturally, by The Rock of pro-wrestling fame, complete with ripped clothing a la "The Incredible Hulk".

"You Blue Dog? Bark like dog then".

10. Is this a re-run?
They did a The Rock Obama skit a few months back when Dwayne Johnson hosted the show.

I love the Rock (really), and I think he's a surprisingly good actor, given our expectations.

But what was that about? Turning Barack Obama into a semi-literate, threatening, jungle warrior? Sorry folks, that was offensive.

Satire is supposed to be about magnifying a person's real-life traits. There is nothing about Barack Obama suggesting he gets mad, much less that he reverts to Kenyan warrior status when he is crossed, or that there is a side of him that barely speaks English.

Pfeh.

16. I think it's a reference to the Hulk. (Mild mannered, calm
articulate, intelligent man turns into raging monster when finally provoked past limits.) While the Hulk could be called a person of color, his color is generally green.

21. It doesn't matter if it was supposed to be the Hulk
It's like the right-wing saying, what's wrong with portraying Obama as a monkey? They called George W. Bush a chimp.

The point is, it means something different when you portray a black man as a raging, non-English speaking, violent person. Get it?

25. No, I dont get what you are saying at all. Seems like oversensitivity to me.
The fact that he does NOT get angry IS the joke. Get a sense of humor and stop trying to be offended by EVERYTHING. Sometimes, humor is just humor. He is black, that does not mean he cannot ever be made fun of, and NO ONE is making fun of his race, NO ONE.
