Reid: "He would rather say anything so it wasn't up to him."

David Kurtz at TPM:

At a press conference on the Hill a short time ago, Harry Reid reacted to Sen. Charles Schumer's declaration that passage of public option is all up to Reid: "He would rather say anything so it wasn't up to him."

Why would anyone expect the Majority Leader to be involved?

3. That's what Schumer does - he was negotiating trigger for 4 months with Snowe.
He was also fine with using co-ops as the public option.

He says one thing publicly for the Dem bloggers and activists and then privately negotiates corporate-friendly compromises.

I don't like Reid, but, his trust rating is at least 40% higher than Schumer.

Just the fact that Schumer made the comment putting it all on Reid tells you that he's afraid some of HIS backroom negotiations will eventually come to light.

4. Be a leader for a change, Harry.
Grow a pair.

Find a spine.

Do your frickin' job or we'll get someone who will!
