Poll question: If money were no longer an issue, which career/volunteer work would you go into?
I would go into education. I would love to be able to help economically disadvantaged students somehow.

21. You're right. I'm one of those all or nothing types
but I probably should just do what I can when possible.

3. I put environment, but education is a biggie too...
In fact, we need RE-Education...how to grow food in urban gardens, how to make things from scratch, how to help one another. C
So in essence, I would go into developing Cooperative Community plans that integrate many of our social needs...

how's THAT!?

(ps, actually, it IS what I am deciding to do with my business model ...working on some new angles, I'll let you guys know how it unfolds)

4. Already retired and plan to stay that way.
By the time I retired, I was hanging on by my fingernails. I wouldn't go back for anything.

5. Archaeology...
It's my other love.

I am glad you put "saving the environment" on your list. I was tempted to vote for that, as I am trained in the environmental sciences. Despite all the business with clean energy and global climate change, good jobs in that field are few and far between--even for those of us with graduate degrees and 20+ years under our belts. I wish I could find a job in my field...

But the periodically bouncing pay checks was a bit of a problem, as was bringing toilet paper and printer paper from home.

and create a unit of lessons that covers literature, social studies, math, science, computers, art, music, etc that relate to the single theme.

33. That's what I voted for, too. Frankly, I'm sick of doing stuff at anyone's
beck and call. I'm sick of doing stuff, period. I suppose that after a year or so, I would feel recovered enough to have a hobby, but that's it. Working all my life has simply taken the joy out of "doing" for me.

15. I would help the poor and fight hunger
I would dearly love to spend time doing good for decent people who just happen to be poor. Poverty - unlike what repugs believe - is NOT a moral failing.

31. Yep, I'd work to help them break the cycle of poverty.
Providing essentials like food and shelter for starters but then education/job training and helping them become employed too. Lots of money needed (that's what fundraising is for) and lots of networking. I'd do it in a heartbeat and perhaps will if I live long enough to retire.
