Obama's Challenge
He gets up in the morning and there are two wars and 15-20 million unemployed people on his agenda for the day.

Although he is the Commander in Chief, there are many generals and experts within the Military Industry that know more than anyone else, including the President, about how best to win the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was not meant to be that way but it is ingrained within the system. No one person can snap their fingers and change the course overnight.

On top of all the military problems we face, the President must also deal with the Big Banks and insurance companies, as well as Wall Street. These are folks that have no intention of giving up their power or wealth voluntarily, no matter who the President may be.

We can criticize the President for not ending the wars immediately and for not proposing a single-payer plan for health care reform. The President has that power but it is only in the Constitution. It is not in reality. Because all laws and legislation must go thru the Congress for the President to sign before it can happen.

But, unfortunately, much of the Congress is beholden to the Big Banks, the Insurance Companies, and the military contractors in their districts. They are not ready to get off their gravy train.

It would be nice if everyone agreed with the President's agenda, but they do not. The President can only play the cards that are dealt him. We can argue that he could do much, much more. But I have my doubts. In the final analysis, it is up to us, the people, to make the changes necessary for government to survive and to operate in the people's interest. The Presidency is only the first step.

2. More than a challenge. We gave him the
hardest job in the world. He inherited a country more f***ed up than it's been in my lifetime.

3. But even if he had the solutions...
With the system so corrupted, yes corrupted, it is still a monumental challenge.
