Elderly Texas Woman Tasered by Cop Accepts $40G Settlement ("I Dare You " Granny)
AUSTIN, Texas — A 72-year-old woman whose Tasering by a deputy constable was captured on video and shown nationwide has accepted a $40,000 settlement offer from a Texas county.

Kathryn Winkfein was shocked with a stun gun after she dared the constable to do so during a May traffic stop. At one point, she sought more than $135,000 for pain and suffering, medical expenses and humiliation.
<snip>
Precinct 3 Constable Richard McCain says an internal investigation found no violations by the deputy constable and a resisting-arrest charge is pending against Winkfein.

He calls the settlement "a miscarriage of justice."

1. He should think of it as a "stupidity tax" assessed against departments . . .
That hire people unsuited to be LEOs.
