Interesting: one would think that the Secretary of the Navy,
would be the darling of the NRA crowd, the macho men, the ones carrying assault weapons to where the President is speaking, Faux... Instead, he was having a grand time on... the Daily Show.

1. Don't kid yourself. He can turn it "on" and "off" like a switch.
Some of the most polished political animals are within the General Officer / Admiral Ranks.

Having worked in the Protocol Section of a large unit, I can attest to the fact that I've met dozens of General Officers yet merely a handful I would ever trust to tell his/her audience the unvarnished truth during a crisis.
