I live in VA. A lot of my friends have kids there. We couldn't get hold of one of them until recently.

My daughter has a lot of friends there. And, frankly, Iraq or not, my family has seen enough death to last us a lifetime. I wasn't looking forward to another funeral.

My nephew was going to be a freshman at Va Tech this year, but chose another school at the last possible moment. Lucky kid.

One of them, however, watched the gunman shoot and kill her RA.

Funny, not in a ha ha way, but I just finished reading 19 minutes, by Jodi Picolet, a book about a Columbine type shooting.

It delved into why the shooter did what he did. Fascinating, to me in a morbid kind of way because I am a psychologist.

I did hear that the gunman was looking for his girlfriend prior to shooting himself.

It's no surprise that people used to mistake severe mental illness for demonic possession. It does seem that there's a small percentage of the population walking around with evil worms eating their brains.
